Who we are

SiftCar ("we", "us") provides a mobile app that analyzes used-car listings and photos to help buyers assess scam risk, condition, price, and negotiation options. This policy explains what data we collect and why.

Data we collect

• Account identifiers. An anonymous device account is created so you can run checks. If you Sign in with Apple, we store the Apple-linked user id (and, if Apple provides it, a private relay email).
• Photos and listing input. Photos you upload, listing URLs, VINs, prices, mileage, and other details you enter or that we extract from a listing you paste.
• Reports and garage history. Generated reports, bookmarks, watches, and related preferences stored in your account.
• Purchases. Subscription and one-time purchase status via Apple / RevenueCat (we do not receive your full card number).
• Diagnostics. Basic app and server logs needed to run and debug the service (for example, failed analysis steps).

How we use data

• To generate your car check report (including AI photo analysis).
• To look up public or licensed vehicle data when available (for example NHTSA recalls/complaints, market comps, and for paid US checks NMVTIS title/odometer history via licensed providers).
• To enforce free-check limits, subscriptions, passes, and credits.
• To improve reliability and prevent abuse.

We do not sell your personal information. We do not use your photos for advertising.

Processors we use

We use service providers to operate SiftCar, including hosting and database (Supabase), AI model providers (for example Google Gemini and Anthropic), payment infrastructure (Apple and RevenueCat), and optional data providers for market comps, reverse-image checks, and US title history. They process data only to provide their services to us.

Retention

We keep your account data and reports while your account exists so you can reopen past checks. You can delete your account in the app (Settings), which removes your profile, checks, photos, and auth record from our systems, subject to short-term backups and legal retention where required.

Your choices

• Use the app anonymously without Sign in with Apple.
• Link Apple to keep your garage across reinstalls.
• Delete your account and associated data from Settings.
• Manage or cancel Apple subscriptions in your Apple ID settings.

Children

SiftCar is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect their data.

Changes

We may update this policy as the product changes. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do.
